Imagine diamonds the
colour of champagne bubbles rising up in a crystal glass, or
the shade of warm cognac, catching the light at every angle.
Besides the most commonly known “white”
diamonds, Nature has created diamonds in every colour of the
rainbow. The Colors of AfricaTM
jewellery range incorporates natural diamonds exhibiting brown,
yellow, orange and olive tones, and everything in-between.
The chances of a diamond displaying an intense fancy colour
are very low – for every coloured diamond, there exist
at least 10 000 colourless ones. Some fancy colours are incredibly
rare and expensive, red being the rarest, followed by pinks,
purples and greens. Yellows and browns are the most accessible
fancies, ranging from light straw to dark coffee colours.
Amongst coloured diamonds there exist dozens of different shades,
depending on the lightness and intensity of the hue. While pure,
rich shades are the most prized, lighter ones are softly dramatic.
Each natural fancy coloured diamond is unique in its subtle
combination of hue and intensity – giving an infinite
range of possibilities. Choosing one is therefore a deeply personal
decision. |
